Biography
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan ARAS graduated from Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2008. He worked at the Kars Sarıkamış Karaurgan Village Health Center between 2008 and 2009. In 2009, he began his residency in General Surgery at the General Surgery Clinic of the Ministry of Health Istanbul Fatih Sultan Mehmet Training and Research Hospital. Between 2015 and 2016, he worked as a General Surgery Specialist at the General Surgery Clinic of the Ministry of Health Istanbul Fatih Sultan Mehmet Training and Research Hospital. In 2016, he began his subspecialty training at the Gastroenterology Surgery Clinic at the Ankara Turkey High Specialization Training and Research Hospital of the Ministry of Health and completed his Gastroenterology Surgery Residency on December 10, 2018. In 2019, he started working at the Gastroenterology Surgery Clinic at the Antalya Training and Research Hospital of the Ministry of Health, and in 2022, he began working as an Assistant Professor at the General Surgery Clinic at SBÜ Hamidiye Medical Faculty Antalya SUAM. Dr. Orhan ARAS was awarded the title of Associate Professor by the Turkish Inter-University Council on May 26, 2023, and began working as Chief Physician at Antalya Training and Research Hospital on April 14, 2025. Associate Professor Dr. Orhan ARAS is married with two daughters and speaks English. |

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan ARAS has 23 articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, 16 of which are original research articles. Nine of his articles published in international peer-reviewed journals are in SSCI, SCI, SCI-Expanded, or AHCI-indexed journals, and eight are in journals outside SCI-Expanded. Six of the research articles in SSCI, SCI, SCI-Expanded, or AHCI are original research articles, and one is derived from a thesis. Additionally, four of the articles published in journals outside of SCI-Expanded are original research articles. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan ARAS has 6 articles published in national peer-reviewed journals, all of which are original research articles. All articles are from national peer-reviewed journals indexed by ULAKBIM/TR DIZIN. He also has numerous posters and oral presentations at national and international scientific conferences. His research, which is included in the international and national literature, covers many areas of the General Surgery department and is mainly related to Gastrointestinal System Diseases, Oncology, and Obesity. He also serves as a reviewer for numerous international peer-reviewed journals.
